Ten York by Tridel | Toronto High Rise Architecture Photographer

Here are a few shots I took of Ten York as the morning fog rolled through downtown Toronto’s waterfront. I always love to chase a bit of drama when I can, and this series was no exception. When I saw the dense fog envelop the area, emphasizing the sheer scale of the structure, I knew I had to capture it.

“Situated at the intersection of York and Harbour Streets, Ten York is a dramatic 70 storey addition to Toronto’s skyline. The geometry of the site inspired the creation of a triangular tower floor plan atop a six-storey podium that terminates in a sharp glass point at its western end. The four-storey entrance lobby combines with the lobby of One York across the street to form the York Street gateway to the Southcore Office and Entertainment District. The base of the building acts as a backdrop to the new Public Park to the southeast of the intersection and is also a brightly lit container for the public art by Josephine Meckseper. Above the ground floor, hotel-inspired amenities include a spa, media centre, party room, and fitness centre. Projecting balconies at the west end of the tower are screened with side-mounted full-height glass panels and perforated aluminum guardrails. The vertical lines of the tower culminate in an angled glass crown that incorporates an array of LED lights for illumination at night.” - Wallman Architects
